Wetland Park


The Hong Kong Wetland Park is a popular destination among travellers while planning a visit to Hong Kong Amusement Parks. It is, nevertheless a fascinating and informative place to be in; and so it is a park that attracts not just tourists visiting Hong Kong but also the local people. Located at the northern part of Tin Shui Wai, the site of Hong Kong Wetland Park was originally intended to be an ecological mitigation area (EMA) for the wetlands lost due to the urban development there. Jointly conceptualized by the Hong Kong Tourism Board and the Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department, the project was initiated in 1998.


The park provides a number of potentially conflicting objectives in order to provide a world-class tourist attraction as well as a functioning wetland and educational facility. The 61-hectare Hong Kong Wetland Park was created with the aim of protecting Hong Kong's ever-shrinking wetland ecosystem. The park includes a visitor's centre with exhibitions and a Wetland Interactive World, where kids can enjoy the Swamp Adventure play area.


The place is acclaimed for hosting themed exhibitions in its gallery while resorting to indoor adventures at the Wetland Interactive World. The Wetland Reserve that has been reconstructed for waterfowls additional with wildlife nature to settle along. The natural reserve is the perfect breath of fresh air away from Hong Kong's urban bustle. Within this area is the Mangrove Broad walk, Bird Hides, Fish Ponds, Stream Walk and many such natural attractions. There is also another unique drawing card in the Hong Kong Wetland Park; and that is the crocodile named ‘Pui Pui', who was caught off the Shan Pui River.
